Research

The Quantum Structures Physics SL3.2 team conducts research in the following areas:

  • colloidal quantum dots: I-III-VI compounds, quaternary alloyed materials
  • mechanism of light emission by colloidal quantum dots
  • applications of colloidal quantum dots in intracellular temperature sensing
  • optical and transport properties of II-VI and IV-VI quantum structures for applications in detection and emission of infrared light
  • first principles calculations of electronic structures of the studied materials
